My 4 Favourite Casual Brands of the Moment

Today I thought I'd just write a short list post about what brands and labels I enjoy wearing and i wear most often. I find that these brands are so easy to create a clean cut casual look. Below each brands I've included what some my favourite items are from each of them and what is next on my wishlist.

An australian store that has gone global, jac+jack is a brand that focuses on establishing the fundamentals of a strong, flexible look.

My favourite item is:

Fine Cotton Scoop Neck Tee. As you will probably realise over the next few posts is that I'm  a plain t-shirt connoisseur. This meets all of the criteria that I'm aiming to achieve with a plain t-shirt: good quality fabric, simple, affordable and easily layer-able.
Next on my wishlist: Cotton Bamboo Tailored Shorts.  Wow! I saw these in the stores and thought I HAVE to have them. They are dressy without being over the top. A flattering shape that imitates that of an A-Line skirt

Another small australian brand that has grown dramatically in size over the last few years, bassike is the perfect 'minimalistic' brand with all the essentials for a versatile wardrobe.

My favouite item is:
scoop neck t-shirt with tail . This is perfect in both white and black with jeans for a casual feel.
Next on my wishlist: oversized man style long sleeve shirt.  Collared shirts are an essential in any wardrobe, they are very versatile and can fit to any occasion depending on what you're wearing it with.

Switching it up a bit from the previous australian designers, this is an american designer who has had a very successful career so far. his avant-guard work has caused interest in the community and is definitely someone to watch as he takes over as the creative head of the fashion house balenciaga.

My favourite item is:
Jacquard mesh shirt~ Semi-transparent,  the buttons are hidden and there is a faint pattern on the fabric,  super flexible. I love this with lightwash jeans.
Next on My Wishlist: Neoprene Box Pleat Skirt~ I absolutely love everything about a-line skirts. I regard them as the most flattering of all clothing pieces on most body shapes.

  • Everybody loves good pair of jeans. For me the qualities of a good pair of jeans are: good material! (especially important because you don't want scratchy demin) and the correct fit (saggy in the wrong areas is never good). J-Brand offers all of these in a wide range of jeans, shorts and skirts.

My Favourite Item:
811 Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans- THE DENIM TWILL IS PHENOMENALLY SOFT/SMOOTH AHHHH such a perfect pair of skinny jeans.

Next on My Wishlist: Aidan Slouchy Boyfriend Jeans~ I've been waiting for a good pair of boyfriend jeans for AGES! Has the time come????

SO THANKYOU FOR READING!!!!

Please comment below what you would like me to write aout and what you like wearing and your favourite brands.

One last thing- I highly recommend shopbop.com to order clothes from online. It is free overseas 3-day shipping if you spend over $100 (which isn't hard to do)

Thank you again! xox

My Christmas Favourites:

There are SUPER tall (6 inches!!) but I adore them and they have the nicest calfskin and a really nice heel especially beause it's straight. Also the front looks slighty squared off for a more modern feel.

  • Marc Jacobs Neoprene Fluro Yellow Wallet
This is a great buy because I can never seem to find the perfect iPhone case and this has one inside!
Also a perfect size.

WANG FOR BALENCIAGA

By now, you would have to have been deaf, dumb and blind to have not heard one of the biggest stories in the fashion industry, Alexander Wang replacing Nicolas Ghesquière as creative head of Balenciaga. There was much interest as to who woud take on the job after Nicolas Ghesquière announced his resignation from Balenciaga. A few names that were floating around in the mix, were: Scottish designer Christopher Kane and American designer Alexander Wang. Whilst Kane's typically colourful clothing is well regarded in the fashion industry. Wang's avant-guarde pieces rose above Kane's and he ultimately got him the job of creative director of Balenciaga.

A BACKGROUND ON ALEXANDER WANG~

Wang's incredible success was quick to come. As a sophomore drop out from Parsons the New School for Design, where he was studying fashion design, he was open to launch his first womens ready-to-wear label in 2007. In 2009, he then launched his diffusion label, T by Alexander Wang. The diffusion label saw cotton t-shirts, singlets and t-shirt dresses as well as a collection of footwear consisting of platform sandals. Wang went on to win the Vogue Fashion Fund award in 2008, he was awarded $200,000 to expand his line.
There is much speculation of how Wang's classically 'edgy' and 'masculine' style will translate at Balenciaga. Balenciaga, usually incorporating, feminine features and crisp tailoring.

After Ghesquière left such a legacy behind at Balenciaga, it can't be known if Wang will be able to match the level that Balenciaga has been taken to, but one can only imagine that Wang will try his best. There is no information at this current time to say if Ghesquière plans to take over another fashion house or start his own label, but all I can say it that I can't wait to see something new on the runway in the upcoming seasons.
